Principal's Message

Welcome from Principal Dunn

August 2024

Dear McBride Students and Families,

Welcome to a new and exciting school year! I am excited to introduce myself as the new principal of
McBride High School. With over twenty-nine years of experience in education, I am passionate about
maintaining an inclusive environment where every student can thrive academically and personally. My
commitment is to work alongside parents, teachers, and the community to ensure that our students
receive the best possible education. In addition to my professional pursuits, I enjoy traveling the world
which helps me to learn about other cultures and provides me with opportunities to foster new
relationships.

As we prepare for the 2024-2025 school year, there are a few details that we need to share with you. In
alignment with the recent state-mandated school start times, the school day will begin at 8:45 a.m. and
end at 3:35 p.m. The first day of school is an All Period Minimum Day with classes starting at 8:45 am.
on August 27th, 2024. Please visit our webpage for the 2024-2025 Bell & Block Schedules.

● Mondays and Wednesdays Odd-periods classes
● Tuesday and Thursday Even-period classes
● Friday. All period classes

Please update your contact information and email address in ParentVue as soon as possible so McBride
staff can send you updates on school district information using the correct email address.

Digital IDs
This year, we will again use Digital IDs through the Minga platform for our school. Digital IDs function
like our old hard copy IDs with a few extra features. Some of these benefits include:
● No printing at registration
● No bulky scanners
● Easy event check-in
● Easy sticker/validation system
● Antifraud
● No more lost cards
Minga is a communication and engagement platform used to connect our school community, students,
teachers, administrators, and parents. Once your child has received their ID, please install the Minga app
on mobile phones or access it online. We will use Minga to inform students and parents about activities,
school events, announcements, alerts, student stories, and more. Minga is an invite-only platform. Only
staff-enrolled students and verified parents/guardians can be part of Minga. Content is filtered and
moderated, and members are known by their real names on the platform. Our objective is to provide a
safe and engaging way to connect our school community to improve our school's awareness,
engagement, and culture. Minga requires users to supply their name and email address, and members
must agree to Minga's Terms of Service. To view the complete Privacy Policy, visit www.minga.io.
