Fill out small high school sports clearance packet, get clearance from a physician (no chiropractors/nurses), then bring back the completed forms to Mr. Howard.
If you already have a physical from a physician completed within the last 365 days, you DO NOT have to get another one done. However, if you are within a month of your current physical expiring, I would suggest going again to have before expiration.
McBride High School recently got LBUSD district approval to form club sports teams and play non CIF sanctioned matches with local area schools, and history was made Tuesday, March 28, 2017, as the Wolfpack Boys Soccer team beat Cypress HS 2-0 in a Boys offseason soccer match. McBride wasted little time with an early goal from senior Kyle Stone just 30 seconds in, and that score held up through the first half. Early in the 2nd half, the Cypress goalie made a big save on a McBride penalty kick to keep the Centurions within one. Then Freshman Erick Ramirez netted another one for the Wolfpack in the 53rd minute, and that was the finishing touch. McBride senior goalie Danny Camacho made 12 saves en route to the shutout victory. This was the first win in McBride High School sports history!
McBride was lucky enough to get the okay from LBUSD to start up some club sports teams. We get to scrimmage local high school teams during the off-seasons of their CIF sports. Our teams are not CIF-sanctioned, but they are a great opportunity for students to stay active, be part of a team, and an even better way to promote and build on our goals for school connectedness.
We would love to see local communities, families, and friends come out to enjoy our games, and please spread the word to any local businesses who would like to sponsor or donate to this newly built program.
